Film Feature: Transforming Service into Career Pathways
Part of the AAN Micro-Film Initiative
We're excited to share a powerful new film about Birmingham Corps' mission and impact, made possible through the Alabama Association of Nonprofits Micro-Film Grant Initiative. Working with talented local videographers, we've captured the heart of our work: building bridges to meaningful careers in service.
Since our launch in June 2022, we've helped over 741 Birmingham residents navigate the job market, creating pathways to economic mobility and workforce access. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Our film reveals why this work matters – because Birmingham is the best place in the world to change the world, powered by people with equal parts heart and determination.
While our city has always turned compassion into action, we recognized a crucial gap: 43% of Alabama residents still struggle to access the workforce, with women and people of color facing the greatest barriers. Birmingham Corps is changing this landscape by training, developing, and placing overlooked talent into jobs that drive both our economy and social change.
Watch our film to see how we're mobilizing talent for good and creating a Birmingham where everyone can find their place for purpose. We're proud to be featured alongside nine other impactful local organizations in the first-ever Alabama Nonprofit Micro-Film Festival.
Thank you to the Alabama Association of Nonprofits for helping us share our story, and to our community for being part of this journey.
